Colouring the Wall With a Coloured LED Strip

Many are finding that adding coloured LED strips to their home lighting design scheme can enhance their home's ambiance. By adding a bright light effect, you can give a room more life and attention than simply having a white light bulb installed.

Colour affects the way we view things and colours can have different effects on us. Green means that the colour is reassuring while red, on the other hand, is a warning. It seems that the colour we are most attracted to is white because it is neither green nor red, but white.

But as with all things, it is the content of the colour that matters. Colorful LED strips add a little extra spice to your living environment by adding colour to what was once monochrome.

Adding colour to your lighting design can add dimension and tone to a room. As long as you don't make the mistake of placing a high-pressure, attention-grabbing colour such as blue or yellow next to a low-pressure, attention-grabbing colour such as pink, you'll be fine. Any colour, however faint, can be used to heighten the effect, especially for the coloured LED strip.

Coloured LED strips can also help bring life to a room if used in conjunction with regular wall light fixtures. Imagine how much better the effect will be if the window lighting is arranged so that the room appears to be larger than it actually is. By creating a large area of shade, you can really draw attention to a room.

It's important to use fluorescent bulbs, as well as regular light bulbs, when designing your light scheme. Fluorescent bulbs work by reflecting the light, which makes them appear brighter than normal light bulbs. With their longer lifespan, they are a better choice than regular light bulbs.

In most cases, fluorescent light fixtures aren't enough to fully illuminate a room. To fully take advantage of the effect, you'll need a colour-changing strip as well. A colour-changing strip uses the same fluorescent light bulbs but adds a second or third tube of LED lights to the bottom of the strip.

By connecting the strip lights to a regular bulb and by putting the strip lights above or below the original bulb, you can easily increase or decrease the amount of light that enters a room. The result will look like you have moved it from a completely dark space into a brightly lit space.
